Sam Coyle is a film director, writer, producer, known for choosing edgy projects. Sam continues to develop her vision to create unique stories that reflect strong female perspectives with a focus on challenging the norm and highlighting the weird and amazing of the underrepresented.
Originally studying as an actress at the HB Studio in New York City, she accesses this training through deep exploration with the actors and finding complex human behaviour and relationships in the writing of her scripts.

Coyle just shot her directorial debut feature film, hazy little thing, March 2019 and is currently in post production. Sam’s second written feature, White River - currently in development, was Top Ten at the Vancouvers Internations Women’s Film Festival screenplay competition, shortlisted for NSI’s Features First 2019 program, quarter finalist at ScreenCraft Film Fund and received an honourable mention for the script contest at the Canadian Film Festival 2016.
Her first produced feature film The Definites has screened at festivals across the world including, Cucalorus Film Fest, Key West Film Fest, Whistler Film Fest, and Bahamas International Film Fest.
Coyle’s short films have screened at festivals - Canadian Film Festival, Cucalorus, Toronto International Shorts Festival, BFI Flare London LQBTQ, Hamilton Film Fest, Reelworld Film Fest, NSI Online, WWM Fest (L.A.), FILMI, ZEE Bollywood Mashup, Celluloid Social and Hard Liquor Fest.
